What makes for a great drayage carrier, and how do you find them?

In any mode of logistics, carrier vetting is one of the top priorities for a 3PL. Carrier vetting becomes an even more important and meticulous  process when you're dealing with drayage moves.

Whether its safety credentials, customs clearance or being active in the system of all major steamship lines more is required of a dray carrier then a typical OTR carrier. Add in the intricacies of each individual depot, port or railhead and the probability of issues that will lead to wasted time and money are high.

Chariot’s dedicated drayage department is experienced in securing long lasting relationships with the right dray carriers. Carrier education and development is a big part of why these carriers continue to dedicate units to Chariot. Staying ahead of an ever changing industry, and helping carriers adjust is key. Add in a highly efficient carrier experience, and Chariots drayage staff expertise, they have all the tools to mitigate or quickly solve any problem or issues that arise.
