Drayage Issues
Chariot Logistics is successful in drayage because of how it mitigates equipment issues and availability. One of the biggest headaches and problems with drayage is lack of equipment availability or issues with said equipment. These issues range in anything from not enough containers or not enough chassis. The depots may have to add a chassis, which is a very consistent problem. Chariot Logistics mitigates these issues and takes away the problem with the knowledge and experience of its staff.
Our staff knows the busier times of the ports as they're in constant communication with the steamship lines with the ports and with the depots. They are mitigating and forecasting when there's going to be tight equipment and then working hand in hand with carriers to get ahead of any issues with getting the exact equipment.
When that doesn't work, the next step Chariot Logistics does is use its creative and experienced carrier base street turn containers. All of our carriers are very experienced and know what do with street turning. Our staff works hand in hand with the steamship lines to get the proper paperwork and all the proper numbers. So, the container numbers remain matched up with the street turn. Many of our experienced carriers own their own chassis, which is a big advantage in the drayage world, because not all carriers have their own chassis. Because of this, Chariot Logistics looks for that and prioritizes those relationships with carriers that have their own chassis, because that is a big big competitive advantage in the drayage world.
